Why is the same car 30% more expensive in Canada with the current exchange rate?

For all sorts of cars, cheap or expensive, in canada the MSRP is commonly 20%-30% more expensive but the exchange rate should be that it's the same.

  1. I can't answer your question directly because I am not familiar with Canadian prices but since you have no response maybe I can point you in a direction to help. Consumer Reports has just added pricing info specifically for Canadian buyers. They have been doing this for many years in the US and they have excellent pricing and reliability info. It is a paid service but may be worth the price. You can start at the web site below: http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/cars/new-cars/news/2008/04/2008-cars-4-08/overview/2008-cars-ov.htm Good luck.
