when will women realize a diamond is nothing but a silly overpriced rock?

Vanity is Insanity for the following reasons: 1) The diamond trade is controlled by an international cartel that manipulates prices to their obvious advantage (way waaay higher that they could ever be justified based on their "rarity"). 2) They are sourced from conflict zones where people have literally lost their lives and limbs over them (the "kimberly" process is inefficient at best as "clean" diamonds are routinely mixed with "dirty" ones). 3) They are polished and cut by child labour in India and 4) Sold by propaganda that "diamonds are forever" (until you lose it and or gets stolen of course!) or as "investment" that invariably goes down in value!

12. The only reason I would want a diamond is because it's my birth stone. I would rather have some wild flowers picked from the highway or something random and spontaneous. Some girls really care about that social status that a diamond gives amongs friends and relatives. If you're not the type to give diamonds, find a girl who appreciates the more simple and creative gifts. Either way, I think Ron White said it best, "Diamonds....that'll shut 'er up!"

14. And the majority of diamond jewellery is purchased by men as gifts for their significant other to "show their love". How pathetic is that? And the higher education a woman has, the less interested she is in owning diamonds.
