Hey, I have currency left over from a world trip , don't know if it's worth much .... ?
I've got found some of my old travel money, don't know if it's worth anything. Reserve Bank Of India , I believe Ghandi is on the bill! 3 - 100's 2 - 50's 6 -10''s. Bank of Guatemala 2 - Q050's , 1/2's Bank of Honduras 1 - 10 1 - 2 Bank of Guatemala 2 x 25 veinticinco centavos Reserve of Peru 1 x 20 Bank of Honduras 1 x 1 , Un lempira is this even worth waiting in line at the bank to exhange into American money ? Yes, I just was curious to know if I had a few hundred left over. Turns out it's about $20 or so. Yes, Definitely a Keepsake. Thanks Chandra, if it's over $50 overall it might be worth exchanging to pay bills etc. If it's down around $20 though, I'll hang onto it!

- wouldn't you rather keep them as cheap and cool souvenirs? I have a ton of money from my travels and its neat to look at once in a while.
- Reserve Bank Of India , 3 - 100's 2 - 50's 6 -10''s. is 40 dollars approx.
- The big problem with converting third world currencies is the high amount charged by banks to do so. So many people just keep the money. However, there are charities which specialize in accepting foreign currencies. Because of the volume of transactions they do, and their status, they get much better exchange rates from their bank. So, you get a tax receipt for the wholesale rate of exchange (which is much higher than the retail rate you would get at a bank). The amount you save on your taxes isn't quite as much as you would get from exchanging your currency, but it's a reasonable alternative to either of the normal options.
