How many years before India has a bigger economy than the UK?
India is currently growing at 8.8% and the UK is currently growing at 1.2%. Most experts suggest little change in these growth rates fir the next couple of years.

- (1) This is a simple math question. Why are you asking it in the Economics section of Yahoo Answers rather than the Mathematics section? (2) The equation of growth at a constant rate is a simple compound interest problem: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compound_interest V(n) = V(0)(1 + r)^n for India you claim r = 0.088 and the CIA says I(0) = 1.236 for the U.K. you claim r = 0.012 and the CIA says B(0) = 2.184 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(nominal) So all you have to do solve for an n such that I(n) = B(n). I'd start by taking the log of both sides. BTW, the long term growth rate of the U.S. is much higher than 1.2% so your answer won't be accurate with respect to the real world, but will be the correct mathematical answer.
