how does yahoo finance determine the future price of a stock?

do computers or people determine the above information? also, how accurate is yahoo finance in determining the future price of a stock? thank you y/a people.

1. It doesn't affect future price at all. All Yahoo Finance does is report stock price movements and news. The people buying and selling the stock in real life are who determines the future price of a stock.
2. They get their estimates from Thomson First Call. Pull up a quote and click on Analyst Opinion then look underneath PRICE TARGET SUMMARY
3. it doesn't. What it does is give a price that people are willing to sell an option on the stock - usually a put or call option. The option price depends on how 'in the money' the strike price will be.
