  1. NO. The govt. can instead encourage/facilitate the use of Public Transport/ Transport Sharing/Mini/Maxi cab on sharing basis instead of autos/two-wheelers. The govt.needs to think proactively taking long term perspectives. It should desist from encouraging appeasements. The people on their part have also to realise and appreicate the realities and actively co operate and coordinate with the govt. efforts. This is the only and real solution to curtail the unnecessary increase consumption of petrol and petrleum products. There is abundant scope to harness the natural and alternate sources of eneregy like solar, wind, biogas etc which in the long run will reduce our dependence on the petrol/petroleum products.
  2. NO. Government should not meddle in management issues. Rather it should take care of implementing "green" consumption methods first for its own ambassadors.
  3. No!The very fact that Indian Government proposes to buy 6 months consumption will move the market and crude oil prices will shoot up and all will be affected. Conservation and economy will pay better dividends. Alternate fuels and better public transport system will be the answer to the spiralling costs. Petrol shocks can be managed with will and support of the people.
