Which caste in South India ranks high in dowry collection?

Now, coming to the demands of the guys and his parents, now a decently educated guy would easily ask for an youngish, say 18-year-old (even if he is touching his 40s), fair, tall, beautiful, well-educated, working, earning a decent salary (in this case, they are ready to relax an year or two) girl who looks no less than the recently famous actress, may be producing clones of the actress would satisfy these goons. In addition to this, the recent trend is one to two kilograms of gold in the form of jewelry (even a statue would crumble under this heavy weight, imagine an young girl wearing all this, hope she does not faint down), conduct the marriage function grandly as if they were the sons of kings, with all this contribution from the girl’s part, the only contribution from the guy would be that he would just come, so that his would-be in-laws could dress him up with a grand dress made of silk, and put him jewels and take him to the wedding hall, for according to him he is really doing a great sacrifice by marrying even such a worthy girl. It is as if he is being asked to drink poison, and he is accepting all these things in return for the poison. What atrocity!!!! In no way would this guy be superior to the girl, if any, he would be inferior, And such a lowly creature has such a high demand just to stick to life with the girl. To add to all this, this stupid guy would have the guts to gawk at other young girls crossing his path as if he was never married in his life. What guts!!!

So, I'm not really sure what your question is...but that story is a fairly solid retelling of Indian guys in general (not limited to South Indians, mind you), who are pampered by their mothers and don't lift a finger around the house. Of course, some of your dowry descriptions are a tad outdated, and exaggerated. But the rest stands to be true.
2. You are 100% right friend. South India is the worst place for dowry, mainly......... in Tamilnadu.
