Will India be a super power by 2020? Please give the reasons for India becoming and not becoming a superpower?

i didn't think that india is going to be a superpower by 2020 and the reasons are increasing of population on high increasing rate political instability law and order unemployment lack of advanced defence technology value of indian currency importing more than exporting per ca pita income literacy rate sex ratio no implementation on strategies

4. No, and for many of the same reasons you list. India is a beautiful country - I've been lucky to visit, but when I did there was a WHO notice out about how people defecate out in the open, which is hazardous. I think that the people need to raise themselves up more.
5. India is still very poor with a lot of corruption and bureaucracy,infrastructure is horrible there even though India has a lot of talented well educated people so i would say i am optimistic

7. No, and you have already cited the reasons I would have given except for environmental degradation. I recently saw some picture of India's rivers. They were disgusting; but in addition to the ugliness there is the ever-present threat of disease. Having said that, it is the direction in which the US is going.

Apart from your given reasons 60% of Indian urban population live sin slums.We hate slum-dog millionaire,but it,s the fact. more then 70% of our population lives under 1$ a day More the 70% population does not have access to clean drinking water and sanitation. Our airports are nothing more then a glorified cowsheds. Corruption is at it,s peak.Every department almost every politician,every political party,Our administration , all are bloody corrupt. In our capital delhi every day there is deficit of electricity. in UP the average time of cut out is more the 15 hours. Our Rivers have become a filth garbage. Internal security scenario is in the hand Of GOD. Fake currency,unemployment,lack of research technology. There are many things that can be classified as a road block to become India a developed country. Whom to blame ???? Our leader class , especially congress which has ruled India almost 52 years

Having lots of more computers,vehicles,mobiles donot make us superpower but equity,knowledge worship,better and affordable means of living will make us superpower.I can tell in you simple words,if a single child in the rural India goes to sleep after hours of weeping out of hunger(which is the case in India)then it is not superpower,cosmetic surgery can not make one real beautiful.
10. India will not be a Superpower ever. We are not even developed yet. We import most of our military technology so we are a militarily dependent nation. A Superpower would be a country that has no military equivalent. After the demise of the Soviet Union, USA is the only superpower in the world with China closing in on it. So unless USA and China nuke eachother which is highly unlikely and if it does happen they will nuke the rest of the world too so India would still not be a superpower. Russia and China are the only real contenders for that tag after USA. Russia is beginning to flaunt it's power again.
