why do my jeans say "Made in India" when i bought them over here?

Yes i know that, they were made in India, if that's what it says, but how come a majority of clothing is made in other countries besides North America? Is it just because the production costs are much lower there, and more people are willing to do that job (making clothes). I just want to know how this system works because i want to study business after high school, then after i get a degree, it's been a dream to start a sucessful clothing company. I would appreciate any advice or information!

  1. Minimum wage in America is more than $7 per hour and employees expect paid vacations, health insurance and all kinds of other things. On top of that there are all kinds of other bureaucratic regulations that companies must adhere to. In India, China and many other countries in Asia there are many people that are willing to work hard for $3 to $4 per day and no benefits. That is why there is no clothing manufacturing in America any more. So if you want to go into clothing manufacturing you need to move elsewhere.
