Do you think India is being groomed by the US to be a major pro-US power? Perhaps a counter-weight to China?

all in the title. The US is warming relations with India, and seems to be moving to increase trade and share intelligence, moving them away from buying from Russia. Perhaps the US plans to bring India up to speed conventionally to have a reliable ally in Asia with numbers to match China's. Social Democrat: lol obvious troll is obvious.

3. Yes it definitely is. China is the next super power which happens to a Communist Country. The EU will also be a global power, but they are not a unified Country. India is currently the largest democracy in the World unless China changes its ways... yeah right. Which is why it's so important that India is one of our strongest allies in the future.
4. India is definitely a growing power, and a solid American ally. The government realizes it needs to make new allies for the long term, because in the long term Europe is a dieing continent with a very slow fertility rate and growing demographics problems.
5. No I don't. Up to speed? They are already beyond us in education and industry. India has far more sophistication having been a colony of England. Most Indians speak English and have advanced degrees. They will take over the USA if we are not careful.
6. Definitely yes ..... With the realignment of world powers vis-a-vis US, China, Russia, Europe and India; US and India are the natural allies....both are deeply rooted in democracy, speak the English language, sees China as a threat in future, both militarily and economically. That is the reason for the nuclear deal... wasn't it ? And then there is the big bang... the economic crisis .... faced by the world and US in particular. Who can the US turn to for cheap and efficient workers .... not Europe since it itself is facing a crisis and also its population is dwindling, it needs its manpower for its own economy. It will not come from Africa, nor from Austarlia nor from Pakistan or Iran or Iraq or Middle East ( Middle East themselves need manpower ). Uncle Sam also would not like to take much people from China. So who is left .... Brazil, Philipines, Malayasia, Japan AND good old India. Yes India it is !!! US needs Indian brains for their power of computing, their efficiencies, their individual ( !!! ) ability to think during crisis ..... it is India Uncle Sam needs to help them in the present economic crisis and also to be their partners to face the clout of China-Russia in future.
