How do you practice doing "fake" trades on yahoo finance?
Like if you are interested in learning how to trade stocks so you want to practice....I heard there is a place in yahoo finance where you can practice fake trading of stocks. Does anyone know where you can do that?

- Don't know about Yahoo but check out http://www.wallstreetsurvivor.com/
- Perhaps Yahoo is not the best fake trading simulator. Here is one that I've used a lot. And it's good for both stocks and options. All you have to do is open a free account and start trading with fake money. http://simulator.investopedia.com/home.aspx
- you can create a portfolio and log in your transactions. Probably no the best website but it can be done
- Just use the create portfolio feature . Decide what stock you want and how many shares . You enter the ticker symbols then use the enter more info feature . Enter the number of shares and the price on the day you would buy . ( whatever it was trading for when you thought that would be a good price if you had $$$$ ) Then you watch and if it goes up you could sell ! . You can enter more than 1 and you should always have several at least . Remember that in real life , if you hold less that a year you pay double the capital gains taxes you would if you held it for a year or more . The portfolio only shows the stocks tho, they don't do taxes but then again , neither do the real brokerages . Have fun ! >
