india's improving economy how is it affecting aviation industry?

- more people in india could now afford plane tickets resulting more turban heads on the plane. people are scared so they wont get on the plane with the turban heads there for lost of sales. It's true if you think about it may seem racist but is how the world works.
- Inidian economy, which is growing at a very high rate, needs a better and faster means of transportation. Train is too slow so... someone has to come up with a better solution = Aircrafts. There are more airlines now (compared to 1999, when only Air India and Indian Airways were on the surface). India is not making any aircrafts, it is just importing some from US. IMPORT kills GDP. But Aircrafts are definately helping India's econ.
- India's outsourcing their aviation training and is congesting our skies and general aviation services in the US. This is taking resources away from our own pilots using our training facilities (shortage of instructors!!). With the pilot shortage we have now, this isn't helping because Indians take the skills they learn here to their country to better THEIR economies. User fees on foreign flight training in the US would be AMAZING.
- I have to agree with Alex there.....yer right on..and will add that two things have happened re: aviation in India. The first is de-regulation that has allowed an explosion of carriers (some dodgy...some ok) and this has lead to a remarkable decrease in the cost of air travel in India. The second thing that's happened is the huge growth and openning of the indian economy. Coupled together this has led to massive increases in revenue miles flown in India and as a result there is a very real shortage of pilots there. So much so that Indian based carriers are actively recruiting western/european pilots on contract basis to work in India..
- more indians turn into pilots, and with little experience they can fly 737.
- i dont know much about india economy, but more and more airlines are born each passing days ex : spicejets, air deccan etc especially low cost carriers which means aviation manpower requirement increases with new planes being purchased. that means there's a lot job opportunity to go around.
