In India, our nationalized banks are charging service charges for crediting salary to savings account !?

Syndicate Bank, Jadavpur Branch, Kolakata, is levying the service chage or commission since September 2008 on every credit byECS, like salary, dividend payment et al. Is it permissible for the nationalised banks in India, by Reserve Bank? Please let me know, whether such charge for crediting the account by ECS are chargeable or not ? Is it appropriate for Syndiacate Bank to charge such ?

2. this is not permissible. i get my pension through ecs in p n b and they dont charge a penny similar is the case with hdfc bank. if your bank is charging for incoming ecs please complain to the deputy governer, reserve bank of india, parliament street, new delhi. what your bank is doing is highly unethical
