do all clothes made in india/china mean they came at the expense of child laborers?

of child laborers working in poor conditions for very low and unfair wages, such as sweatshops? should i feel guilty that all my clothes are made in india?

  1. Both countries are lacking in labor laws to prevent exploitation. But I think China is worse of the two; China also uses prison labor (slaves) who are only paid in better food and improved diet in exchange for agreeing to work on the factory assembly. This cannot be confirmed, but there has been numerous reports from people who were released after serving years on a factory plant.
  2. NO..... being an Indian i know how cloth and fabric industries are run here, India's policy on child labour has evolved over the years against this backdrop. The present regime of laws relating to Child Labor in India have a pragmatic foundation and are consistent with the International Labour Conference resolution of 1979. The policy of the government is to ban employment of children below the age of fourteen years in factories, mines and hazardous employment and to regulate the working conditions of children in other employment. The Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 seeks to achieve this basic objective. I know this kind of rumor is spread a lot in European and US continent the sole reason is they do not want you to purchase Cheap and better quality stuff imported from US/China, since they can't compete in price with important things, visit govt of India's labor ministry website(below) for more info
