How do I fix the dye in "Made in India" garments?

When I wash cotton garments made in India, copious amounts of dye runs out, leaving the garment faded and horrible. How can I prevent this? But they have such nice clothes.... Its just that the dye leaks, and I'm wondering how I stop it from leaking...

1. add about 1 cup of salt to cold water and it should set the colors.........never wash in hot water........
2. Don't buy "made in India" anymore!
3. When receive garment, put in dryer to help set dye (not a permanent fix - - just helps some). Hand wash items in cold water with a non harsh detergent.
4. Vinegar and cold water does it every time.
