Who did India trade with in their early days?
Public Comments
- Tea and precious stones to England mostly
- France, Spain, England, the dutch, italy
- europe of course!
- England mostly.
- probably the Red Sox cause they needed pitching.
- How early is early? I think before the Europeans, they traded with Arabs, Malays and the Chinese. Maybe with Africans too but I'm not sure about that. The current India has may ties with Africa lasting a couple of generations.
- You need to define "early days" more specifically... Was it the early days of independence? The days before the European colonization? The days before Mughals? The days before the Gupta? The days before the the Maurya? Something else?
- AS EARLY AS THE FIRST CENTURY AD THERE WAS TRADE WITH ANCIENT ROME, CHINA, SOUTHEAST ASIA, AFGHANISTAN, PERSIA, AND NUMEROUS OTHER LANDS. SEE ATTACHED LINKhttp://india_resource.tripod.com/trade.html
